Read The Swarm, by  Frank Schätzing (translated from original German, I think) and it was bloody brilliant.  Hard to say anything about it without giving the plot away, but if you like Michael Crichton or eco-disasters, you'll probably like it.

Now reading The Loch by Steve Alten, which so far is pretty crap.

I'm still wading thru 'Odd Hours' I am determined to finish it, but I just can't get gripped by it, which makes  me sad, as there are books of Koontz's I've read in a sitting.

I've said it before, of all the characters he could have concentrated on, it had to be Odd Thomas?

Am now up to Pillars of Creation by Terry Goodkind.  And this one's a paperback, which is a nice break for my wrist after holding up all the hardbacks in bed.

Now up to Phantom.  It's taken me a month and a half to get this far, reading nothing else, for approx three to four hours a night, pretty much every night.

Finally on Confessor, the last in the series.  When I finish this, it's on to my birthday present from Lucy.

I hope it's worth the wait then.
I'm still on the Dresden files, then I'm going to finally get round to Frankenstein.

Sadly, this was a total disappointment.  It was like it was written by a different person altogether!  Very simplistic, poor characterisation.  Bah!

Re-read Small Favour by Jim Butcher last night, and started on Turn Coat.

Don't be silly, love.  It's what I wanted, and I'll be keeping it regardless.  It's just, given how involved he made you with the series, there's just no comparison.

Just read Marley & Me again, in one sitting (again).  And killed myself laughing for the first half, and cried my eyes out for the last quarter.

Cockatiels at Seven and Swan For The Money, both by Donna Andrews.

Fragment by Warren Fahey - billed as the new Michael Crichton; not quite, but good enough.
