Beautiful Snoffles is leaving me tomorrow

We're saying our goodbyes tonight. Her mammory lump is starting to go nasty and I don't want it to hurt her. I think she's about 1/3 lump now

I've had to go to work today, Marks loving her tonight and then I'm loving her when I get back from samaritans tonight. So I plan a bottle of wine and to say my goodbyes tonight. I'm dreading it - I've never struggled so much before - not because I know it's not right - it 100% is right and part of my continuation of care for her - but because she's been through so much it seems bloody unfair that she only did 11 months of that with me.

Had to write something cos I keep blubbing at work and generally being a complete miss so I thought I'd write this to see if it would help me to come to terms with it.

I am dreadfully sorry Helen

I faced this same predicament last week (in fact i lost 2 of my 3 girls within 12 days of each other,leaving my remaining girlie alone) so i fully understand how you feel.

You're doing what you have to for her sake, as right as it is you have the right to grieve.

She'll be safe at the bridge with no more hurts, take comfort from that X

No, i don't feel Zelana would take well to newbies, she's over 2yrs old and a pet shop rescue.

She's not coping well at all,seems very low

I hope you have many snuggles with Snoffles tonight and give her whatever she wants

That is a lovely thought, but tbh she's terribly shy and it took her a long time to trust the cagemates she had so i don't feel she would take to anyone.

I shall just give her many spoilings and treats (like the new cage i buyed her

.. thought it would be nice for her to explore something new)
Hopefully she'll come round in time.

Do you do anything special for yours? When i lose one of mine, i light a scented tealight for them .. it guides their soul to heaven and gives me peace.

(i dont care what anyone says, i believe my ratties have souls!)

I raise a toast to them - regardless of time of day. That's a nice idea (and now Im crying again) ARGH. I dont know - I'll have to think of a fitting tribute tonight/tomorrow.
