Sapphire's last vet visit tomorrow.A couple of months ago I noticed Sapphire's sense of smell and hearing wasn't what it was, I put it down to age, and the possibility of something neurological. But she was completely fine in herself so I didn't worry to much.
I took her to the vets at the beginning of September, because her sense of smell was non existant and she was a tiny bit wobbly. She could still grip her food and was still her usual self.
She was put on steroids and antibiotics, and there remained no change, until today.
Today she can't grip her food, she is very wobbly, and the usual bright little girl is gone.
I'm gutted, Safs is so special, she is completely one of a kind. I will be taking her to my vets tomorrow to be put to sleep.

Safs is worse today. Her front legs can't hold her up so she drags herself around the floor. She will take soft foods and water from my finger, but can't eat herself. There's porphyrin out of her nose and eyes too.
The vets open at 11.

Thankyou for everyone's replies.
I still can't believe she's gone. And the cage feels so empty.
Sapphire was leaving blood spots from her mouth at the vets (I think where she'd had to drag her chin on the floor, her teeth were cutting into her lip)...I got home, opened the cage door, stroked all the girls, brought my hand out the cage and there was a blood spot on my finger. I panicked, thinking I'd have to rush back to the vets or something, checked all the girls but they were 100% fine. And although it's unlikely, I like to think it was Safs that came back one last time.
I miss her so much.
