Pixie... vibes needed on TuesdayShe's having trouble with her anal glands again. The right one abscessed (which burst on it's own) so we cleaned it with salt water til our vets visit. He put her on a high dose of ceporex and metacam, told us to keep up with the salt water and go back in 10 days.
He was also worried about the gland that seemed ok as he could feel a pea sized lump.
We went back after 10 days and he was amazed at how well she'd healed up, apparently she was about a month ahead of schedule 
But she has to go in and have her anal sacks removed on Tuesday because of the lump and the fact that this is the second time she's had problems with them.
Apparently it'll be quite painful and she'll be incontinent for a few days afterwards 
There's also the added worry of her being nearly 10 years old, and the fact that she's so nervous/stressy at the vets and has to be muzzled so she can't bite them.
We've got to take her in at 9am so that she can be given valium and ketamine while we're with her (apparently she'll be high as a kite and a very happy girl  ) and then she can be taken straight through to have the op.
Lots of vibes would be much appreciated

You can't see them anyway... the vet has to glove up, lube up and go in for a feel

Sasha has only ever once had hers cleaned, and has still never forgiven the vet for it.

Yeah pixie knows what's coming when we go in there now... she can open doors at home and she tries to do it at the vets now

I know I shouldn't laugh, but I can just picture it.
We had to put a bolt on the outside of my bedroom door when we first got her cos she'd let herself in and raid the bin  Luckily our street door doesn't have a handle!

Hi Tigerbabe poor little Pixie bless her. Anal glands are a problem in some dogs, hopefully removing them will solve everything for her.
