I want one of these.com Never seen a sugar glider before... Arkie has such a great character
When his owner took a sock out of her coat pocket, I was not expecting this. He is so well behaved and happily stayed in his sock whilst we ate, drank and chatted.

He's adorable. Almost looks like a made-up animal.

I thought he looked like a Gremlin . A shame these are the latest trendy pet as they take an enormous amount of care for such tiny creatures.

He's so cute! I don't think I've yet to come across an animal that doesn't take a lot of care (despite what some people think)!

Aww how cute, there are some people in this country I think that have them. They need alot of space a big avairy type thingy. But they are so cute.

Is that like they REALLY need a lot of space in an aviary, or like rats need a lot of space according to experts and then squeeze into the smallest possible space with 75% of cage mates?

They need an avairy because they jump and glide so need plenty of space to do this.
I know alot of rat experts will say rats need alot of room but how much room does the rat actually use, I know ours don't use much of theirs.

Mine use it all, they fly round the cage like loonies, or sofa, or playpen. Sure they like to cuddle up and smooch with each other but they also need a lot of space to run around and bounce.

The amount of cage my girls use is directly proportionate to how good the treat they've been given is, and how much they don't want to have their cage mates to have it.
To be entirely honest, I don't believe there is such a thing as a rat 'expert'
That's just someone who wants to feel good about themselves. Rats teach you new things everyday, and what applies to 999 rats, there's always one contrary swine that's not having a bar of it.
Also, I know it makes me sound completely hypocritical but I don't really believe animals like sugar gliders and chipmunks should be kept in cages at all.

I think everyone who considers having one or more of these should chat to the owner of this one and watch her syringe feed the slop that she's mixed up for him after a ton of research (she's a trainee Vet Nurse). This little poppet was earmarked for pts as he only has 3 legs so she took him on. He lost his leg because it got trapped in a bar at the breeders cage and his Mum chewed it off to release him. Another example of how captivity does not work for these cute little munchkins .

I've seen chipmunks in the size and shape of cage that was deemed acceptable by the RSPCA, and it was pitiful.

I don't feel guilty about keeping my rats in a cage 'coz most of them won't come out of it.
Nah they say, life is good here.
There are some animals that although gorgeous to look at, should never be kept as pets.
I think wolves would be top of the list. Closely followed by owls.

I agree. Some animals like human company (like rats, cats, dogs, etc.) but most are better off left in the wild.

I agree sugagliders and chipmunks shouldn't be kept in cages and left where they came from. They have chipmunks for sale in a pets at home store and they are only in a savic freddy 2 cage which is far to small for them.
