I lost Harry today.

He was fine last night and this morning. I went downstairs to watch the olympics. when I came back up he was in a great deal of distress.

I sat with him for a bit, honestly thought he would go there and then. btt he didn't so we had to take him to the emergency vets.

I am a bit upset now so can't type much. I loved him so much.

I feel better now , going to the emergency vets was bloody horrible the vet was lovely and very kind to me (crying my eyes out barely able to speak) but at first they took him away to assess him and it took ages or seemed like it and that on top of the 30 min journey in the car just finished me off . I couldn't stand it, not my lovely Harry.

Atleast he isn't suffering now

But you definately did the right thing taking him to the vets and helping him on his way to the bridge. Sometimes they just need a little help.....and you did that.

they have all been very quiet and actually the girls have been quiet skittish too which upset me.

I'm sure they just miss Harry too. There always seems to be a period of re-adjustment in the group whenever there's a change in number, and it always seems worse if it's either the alpha or the bottom rat in the pile that is no longer there.
