Hi guys,

My cousin has split up with her fiance and has moved back to her mum's with her 2 kids so she has asked me if I could take her hamster.

I haven't had a hamster since I was 12 so don't really remember much about them! I think she said Jinxster is about 2 now but still quite active.
How long do hamsters on average live for?

I'm supposedly picking him up tonight, if she ever gets back to me to confirm. Just hope he doesn't bite! I don't think he's been handled much to be honest.

2-3 is the average lifespan. I presume he will be coming with all the gubbings that he is used to.

My last hammy was a real gladiator hammy and was very active. She spent ages doing hang tough along the bars from one end of the cage to the other; climbed the stairs; was happy enough in the ball but OMG she loved her wheel and would spend many a night spinning that thing round (when I was trying to sleep)
