Golden OtocinclusJust wondered if there are any problems with these little guys?
Dad got me 4 last night to control algae (3 out of 4 bristle nose died, their tummy swelled up HUUUUUGe and they passed awaywithin a few hours, but that was a month ago and water changes and checks have been done and the man said the water is fine......)

They're fine, but not anywhere as efficient as the bristlenoses. The colour is just a form of albinism, so treat them as you would a standard one.
With the ancistrus, were the scales standing out?

nope... just really really bloated, it was odd, the last one I took to shop and they kept in a tank alone and gave meds for 3 days but nothing, my water was checked and there was nothing wrong.....

this is what the man thought but they tried the waterlife stuff and it had no effect..

Doesn't necessarily rule it out - just means that it was too far gone. Stick with Waterlife meds, they do tend to be the best.

they do seem to work very quickly too, i told a mate about it who had some fishkies getting cotton mouth and they all survived, albeit with some very odd looking fish now tho!
