Fringe !!!

Is apparently coming back on Sunday October 4th at 10pm
Dragonrat

But it's a bit of a dead slot, isn't it?
Linzi

I'm currently re-watching the first series that they've been showing two of a week on Thursday nights.

It's in the same slot that it was in before, so I'm not surprised.

The only *marrow* is that I'll be flying out to Prague that day, so my *bleep* Sky+ box had better behave itself!
Dragonrat

Is it?  Shows how bad my memory is.

Yay to Walter!
FluffyBuffyWatwat

Yay!
Tho I hate when they start shows when the American's do, 'coz then we have a dead space of three months or so.
Like it really annoys me how Sky rushed thru House.
Linzi

They don't normally start this early either.  When they've done that before (with Lost and Bones) it's been November time when they've started (I think).  I really really hope that they aren't going to show it exactly as they do in the US, which is pretty much 3 weeks of new episodes, then a gap of about 3 weeks (when they show old eps), then 3 more new ones, etc.  That will drive me loopy!

At least with Stargate Universe (starting on 6th October I believe - I'm sure they've done it on purpose cos I'm on holiday!!!!!) they are likely to show it in one as they've done with all the other Stargate series.

I seem to remember seeing somewhere that the new series starts in October, which is why they rushed.
FluffyBuffyWatwat

Yeah, and it means some thing. Show a few then hiatus.
Bones starts next month as well, but I big fat don't care.

Hmm, i'd heard October 6th at 8pm on Sky One Linzi ...... but there's not much in the way of advertising as yet .. thought they would have hyped it up a bit.
Dragonrat

There was a catch-all advert Sunday night for Fringe, Bones, Lie To Me, House (with Hugh Laurie talking in his real accent, which just sounded so wrong) and Stargate Universe.

Yes indeedy    and Lou Diamond Phillips
FluffyBuffyWatwat

Drat.
Sare

Why Drat?
FluffyBuffyWatwat

I have never watched an episode of Stargate in my life 'coz I hated the film, but I LOVE Robert Carlyle. Drat.

And Lou, too?  May well have to watch this one.  reminder, people, okay?  I love Stargate, but thought the film was crap (mainly because of James Spader, who just can't act).  I've not seen the others, because I missed the beginnings.
Sare

Reminders it is then

I adore Robert Carlyle, he's seriously awesome

LDP is also pretty cool

Aahhhh y'see ....... the series is different from the film in so many ways .. and David Spaders character was played by Michael Shanks who can actually act and was fantastic in the role !
Linzi

Yeah, Stargate is one of those exceptions (like Buffy) where the series is way better than the film (although I quite like the film).

I should think you'd be fine starting with this one Lucy, I doubt it will be too tied in to the mythology of the other ones from what I've seen (ads for it so far look pretty good).

Back in his La Bamba days he looked about 16 but his portrayal of Richie Valens was awesome.
