Fox story. One of my colleagues has 2 bunnies which she dotes on. They get up to all sorts of mischief and have caused her £100's of pounds worth of damage by eating through freezer wires etc.
Anyway, as a result, she's a light sleeper. She woke up the other morning about 1ish to an awful noise and ran outside in her pyjamas and half asleep. It was a fox which had something white in it's mouth - she thought it was a Jack Russell. She startled the fox and it dropped it's prey and ran off. Anyway, she picked it up and it was a cat and just alive but making a horrible noise when breathing so she decided, pyjamas or not, she was going to take it to the emergency Vets. She found a collar on it, recognised the postcode as her own and saw a 13 on the tag so decided to try that house number further down the road, having never sopken to them in her life.
So at 1/4 past 1 in the morning, she knocks on their door and asked if they have a white cat, the reply yes so she explains it's in her kitchen having been got by a fox So these 2 strangers, also in their pyjamas go to her house and sure enough it's their cat and they take it to the Vet.
Miraculously, it survived! The family gave her some flowers and a thank you card plus a hand written thank you card from the young daughter.... when I read that, that's when I started blubbing

Oh that's lovely that she went to so much trouble, the foxes round here get picked on by the local cats.
