Bloomin' Darwin

I stopped fedding the torts beginning of November with the intention of hibernating them for Dec/Jan. At the end of Nov I took them to the Vets for a pre-hibernation check and as they are both at the absolute bottom end of the Jackson ratio, the Vet recommended keeping them awake.

So I started feeding them again and turned up the heat/ light etc. Titch started eating but Darwin didn't. He keeps yawning, digging and clearly wants to hibernate.

So I had a chat with the friend who I got them from and she said he can hibernate with hers and she's given me a box. I put him in it this morning and he tried to escape   . Since them he's been the most active I've seen for weeks   .. AGGGHHHHHH!! I don't know what to do now.

I guess in their own time, they'll let you know when they're ready to snooze.

How can I get him to eat again?

I don't know, hun.  Is there maybe a stimulant the vet can give him?

I've just spoken to the lady who gave him to me (she's kept them for 35 years). She says he's obviously not ready to hibernate yet and not to worry.

She checks the weather forecast because of her torts and it's going to be mild for a couple of days. So I should stop stressing..... should does not necessarily mean can
